Folks,

I have recently acquired a bayonet from a gentleman wishing to obtain a value for it. It was obtained by this gentleman after digging through a garden in Laurinburg, NC. It was found in the early 1950's. It seems to follow the pattern and dimensions of a Miss. style saber bayonet. WHat are some good sources that I might use in gauging its value?

Thanks,

C. Davis

1st up is to determine if it a standard US M55 Sabre bayonet or a more exotic one such as a CS Boyle and Gamble. There are several sabre bayonets with brass handles that look kinda alike. You gotta know what you have before you can put a price on it. Do a google search for saber bayonets and start looking for the one you have. The North South price guide lists from around $200 to $650 depending on what you have and condition.
