Mod Please feel free to remove if you deem it outside of our scope.
However I am appealing to all those Pennsylvanian's in the area to stand up and go to the public hearing for Ft. Pitt on Thursday May 14th. It is slated to close. For those of you in that area please find a way to attend.

>>"In a report released on March 18, the
Pennsylvania Historical and Museum
Commission (PHMC) recommended that
the Fort Pitt Museum be closed and the
artifacts it holds be removed."<<

Reason? The economy?

The Ft. Pitt museum will stay open. A ton of people apparently went to the meeting and a private/public partnership will be established to keep the museum open.

Yes most historical sites in the past two years suffered a hit. Its only been within the past few months that patronage is increasing and in some cases has eclipsed previous records.
