OK I know they're not aluminum.....for some reason I can't find out what metal(s) they were made of....steel, iron, cupro-nickel plated brass, tin....???
My guess is tin....or tin plate
Thanks!

Hallo!
The tubular magazines in the 6, 10, and 13 tube Blakeslee Box were tinned sheet iron.

RJ,
I have check with several tinsmiths and have not found any yet that can or have the rollers small enough to make tubes for the Spencer boxes. I have supplied inside and outside dementions to tinsmiths with no help so far.
The truth be know the tin tubes are even lighter than those made of aluminum.
I know there are some out there, I just can't remember where... sorry!

Hallo!
Bitte, sehr.
I do not recall who made them, but what was used for the repro Blakeslee Boxes that were available a few years ago?
(I bought one from a CAS lad with a Romano Spencer Rifle a few years back.
When the Spencer arrived, it had a Vernier tang sight and a spirit level front sight added.
There was no Blakeslee box in the box. I contacted the seller, and he said he had decided to sell the box separately and was refunding that portion of my payment.
Since I had a problem with that, and since he had not mentioned that the Spencer had been modified for "long range shooting" [IMHO and oxymoron for the Spencer Rifle], I returned the Spencer.)
