Does anyone know if the movie "Jouney to Shiloh" was ever put out on DVD or VHS. ( It's an old '60's film staring James Caan). I've been looking for it for a couple of years but never had any luck.

Thank you,

Is this the one where a group of brothers is headed to join Lee's cavalry and gets fooled into joining the western infantry? Only one survives by deserting after the battle, and then only because of the mercy of his commander, who in effect lets his go?

You have the right movie with one small mistake, the band of men weren't brothers, but a group of Indian fighters from Texas.

I got lucky and taped a copy off of broadcast TV, contact me and I'll see about making you a copy.

It was also Harrison Ford's screen debut (I think).

Close but not quite. From a list of his movies from http://www.allstarz.org/harrisonford/movies.htm

Zabriskie Point (1970)(uncredited) .... Airport worker
Journey to Shiloh (1968) .... Willie Bill Rearden
Time for Killing, A (1967)(as Harrison J. Ford) .... Lt. Shaffer, USA
Luv (1967)(uncredited) .... Hippy

My memories of his film roles only goes back to the early 70's with American Graffic.
