Michigan based unit with members from through-out the State.

Historical Civil War Re-enactments & Living History salute to the 26th MI Infantry and related area units. This group is open to men & women of all ages to participate and educate the public about the Civil War.


Whether you're a Re-enactor, Spectator, into Family Genealogy, Civil War History or Michigan History; please feel free to join and support our group. The Twenty-sixth Regiment, being from the Twenty-sixth state of the union, served in the 22nd Corps, (Alexandria), then the 7th Army Corps, (New York Draft Riots), and then in the Army of the Potomac, Hancock's 2nd Corps. (1st Division - Francis Barlow; 1st Brigade - Nelson A. Miles) The first regiment into the "Bloody Angle" at Spotsylvania, the Twenty-sixth Michigan Volunteers also served as the home base camp for Michigan Relief Agent Julia Susan Wheelock, "Michigan's Florence Nightingale".

Other units we also "fall-in" with, to pay tribute to; include Berdan's - Co. B. 2nd Regiment U.S. Sharpshooters, the Field Hospital with Bat. D. 1st MI L.A. & the Irish Brigade's 116th PA. Many are also members of the Traverse City, Michigan Sons Of The Union Veterans Robert Finch Camp No. 14.
