On Thursday February 12 the History Channel will host a live web cast on the bicentennial of Lincoln's birthday. 1:45 pm. Go to www.history.com for more details. It seems to be mostly geared toward Middle School/High School students, but we can all have fun brushing up on our former lessons.

I just got done with the webcast and I'm sorry I sent my students to watch it. To say it was boring is an insult to the word boring. If the directors at the History Channel think students will be excited to learn about Lincoln after this program.... I'll be nice with my words (ahem, hack, hack) they must be on something "illegal". I am going to have to work twice as hard to get students excited for the lessons on Lincoln now. They had very learned scholars talking about Lincoln, in the least effective method of teaching for Middle School aged learners. Sorry I made the intial post.
