dressings

I seem to have lost my notes on dressings i seem to recall that they were of a red felt material but what size and was i correct on the felt? and were they individually packaged? I also seem to recall use of spanish moss but fear this would harbor insects or paracites.
Also I know that towards the end of the war iodine was beginning to be realized as a healing aid when applied to wounds by accident anyone know the year - Like i said most of my notes became lost
