Hi, I wanted to ask for us pumpkin-slingers shooters- do you roll them on any larger former than for a .58? I use a .75 bore and need a wider paper cartridge for my block.

Thanks,

Our unit uses these same tubes for .58 & .69 blanks. I dont see why they wouldnt work for .75 bore since they are generally 3.5" - 4" long. I have put 95 - 100 grains in them with plenty of length to fold over. I use the same block to make cartridge packs for both calibers with no problems either, again, the bigger .75 may indeed, be another story. If you are making live rounds I suppose that may a different story as well. In any case, I could roll some bigger ones if you need your size to be closer to .75, just let me know. It may take me a week or so to get 500-1000 rolled up and I may need to use larger trapazoids.

Harley,
Actually my unit does earlier times than Civil War. We carry the British Brown Bess musket which is .75 caliber and a flintlock. So we use more powder for the pan as well. We normaly roll about 110 to 120 grains per.

Thanks,
Jim Chocole

In response to previous request, I do now have limited quantities of tubes available for the .75 caliber "big fellers". They are rolled on 5/8" dowel, same pricing as the 1/2" tubes.
Thank you to all that have ordered.

Are these tubes rolled like the paperlady or are they rolled and tied in a period correct fashion?

Jim
These are not tied in period fashion, I aint that ambitious. They are made from unprinted newspaper and hence, fairly biodegradable, putting no ink back into Mother Earth. Here is a link to pic.

Fellows,
Still have paper tubes for blanks available, now in three sizes.
1/2" - .490"
5/8" - .625"
NEW SIZE for BIG BORES
3/4" - .720"
Prices same for all sizes:
$9 for 250 (+3 extra)
$17.50 for 500 (+5 extra)
$36.00 for 1,000 (+10 extra)
Shipping is extra. Due to USPS price increases, shipping generally runs about $5 for box of 250, around $7-$8 for box of 500. Sometimes shipping for 1,000 via Priority Mail gets ridiculous, over $20 to locations such as California in which case, it is cheaper to ship two (2) boxes of 500. Email with questions & orders, Money Orders or PayPal.

In response to some requests, my 1/2" .490 tubes are now available in a little shorter length of 4" as well as the 4.5-5" length I have been offering. Just gotta specify length upon order.
