Do any of you from Indiana have any information regarding the current statis of the old fort in Fort Wayne? My, what a nice facility and reconstruction it was. The last time I saw it was about 5 years ago and it was reduced to just the main buildings, all with the chinking removed from between the logs...the walls completely gone. The visitor center was replaced by a parking lot, and I don't think the foot bridge over the river was there either. They held CW events, Rev War events, 1812 events, just about everything there at one time or another.

Harry,

One of our local Union groups, the 44th Indiana, pretty much uses it as their home base. They are quite involved in the preservation activities of it. There is a lot of information on their website at: www.44thindiana.org
