I have a Confederate frock coat (repro) that has a stamp on the lower lining that says either G. D. Durbin or something like that, from Des Moines, IA. Is this the guy who reproduced the coat or is it an attempt at an historical affectation? The stamp is feint and I can't tell if the D's are B's ! The marking is round, with a smeared word in the center (maybe a name, first two letters MA), and the name and state around the outer edge.

Any ideas?

Your coat was made by Coon River Mercantile. Gerald Durbin is the owner. They are from Iowa. The word in the middle probably says 'MAKER'. Hope this helps.
