Smithsonian Museum of American History, Washington, DC
The Federal City Brass Band performs music of Abraham Lincoln as part of
special museum programming January 17-19 in conjunction with the Presidential Inauguration
and the opening of two new exhibits on Lincoln, commemorating the bicentennial of his birth.
Performances between 11 am and 4 pm daily. Free and open to the public.

as well as other popular music which was written or performed for him during his presidency. Free and open to the public.

Glad to hear that you have these venues to perform. People at Church are STILL talking about the time you played for that ceremony.

If I managed to get to D.C. I will have to be in modern dress...lol. I don't think a confederate uniform will go over too well--even if I am now portraying a Chaplain. (Hate to admit it but the old Union blues are a bit to snug right now).

Bump. February 12 is this Thursday, and I'm looking forward to it.

Sorry I couldn't make it on Inauguration weekend, Jari. For some reason I just wasn't expecting D.C. to be so packed.

Anyway, those of us who work in town should be able to sneak away for a time on Thursday. It will be well worth it.
