I'm looking to sell or trade a federal enlisted man's frock coat w/ corporal stripes. I can't recall the makers name, but it is a good coat. It is machine sewn with hand sewn lining/button holes. The coat is made of good quality wool broadcloth of the right color and weight. I only want to sell this coat because I'd like to obtain one that fits me a bit better and because I no longer have use for a coat with corporal stripes. Like original coats made for NCOs, this one has its corporal's stripes sewn into the sleeve seems.
The coat measures as follows: 42 inch chest, 23 1/2 inch sleeve length (from shoulder seam to end of cuff), a back length of 18 1/2 inches (from collar seam to waist), and a 36 inch waist.
The coat is used but in good condition--no holes, tears, or stains. The coat has a hook-and-eye closure at the base of the collar but no hooks and eyes on the skirts. The coat has tail pockets and the chest is lightly padded. I can send pictures to anyone who is interested in seeing the coat.
I would prefer to simply sell the coat for $150 plus $7 to help defray shipping costs.
However, I would also be willing to trade the coat for an enlisted man's frock coat of like quality with a 38" chest (Issue size #2).
I would also consider doing a combination of cash and trade. I am interested in obtaining the following: a good pair of braces, a high quality civilian belt, a gray wool federal contract shirt, and a schulykill arsenal infantry jacket w/ a 38 inch chest.
PLEASE send me a PM if you are interested
Sincerely
P Moyer
