In the movie Gettysburg; in scene #19 I believe it to be; where the scene is where General George Pickett rides into General Longstreet's camp; he causes his horse to rear and asks to parley with the 'General' if you please--

In the background there is a guitar and banjo piece that is cheerful and lively.

By chance, do any know of this piece's name?

After reading your post yesterday, I listened to the tune last evening. Unfortunately, the tune is quite brief and and hard to hear because of the dialog. From what I could hear, it sounded like they were repeating a single musical phrase, like the A part or B part of a tune without developing it further. It was not familiar to me hence I was unable to identify the tune.
