View Full Version : I won them on E bay
I had these guys with the whole Marx Big Box O' Civil War back in 1961. I got Lee and Davis a few years ago.

Are they made from period correct materials? Are the patterns correct? Are they the proper height and weight compared to other CW figures?
You can't be too careful about these things. You only want to purchase authentic toys.
(I shall now remove my tongue from my cheek).

I know the one is Abe Lincoln (duh!!), is the second one U.S. Grant?

I was guessing that it was Lee.

Yep it's Grant. Lincoln has a little flash or mis-match on his hat. I don't have the figures in hand yet. My Davis and Lee are pretty nice figures. I have several cast and painted metal figure of these men, but I wanted these figures, so i got 'em.
If they have that nice plastic smell of a freshly opened Marx playset on Christmas morning...well...
I remember my brother and I setting a CW whole battle up with Indians and Highlander allies. We used Lincoln Log ammuntion. (The one notch piece)
My dad bowled them over with wax fruit.

Missed the cigar. Price of getting old, your eyes are among the first to go.

The long "frock" coat is what stumped me. Never saw the cigar. Maybe I should see the optometrist.

Don't remember. That blasted CRS again. Another price of getting older. :)
