I had to make a post to declare the great satisfaction with which I tried on my new Jr. Officer’s Frock coat from Nick Sekela last night!

I have been waiting with great anticipation since I had the pleasure of first meeting Nick, and then getting measured by Nick himself at AHT this summer. And it was more than worth the (not so long) wait! It fits like a glove!

From the beautiful materials and the intricate chest quilting, down to the rarely reproduced early war style externally accessible tail pockets, it really is a thing to be admired! All that said, for me the best aspect of all is the overall cut or shape of the coat; it has the narrow chest, the wide elbowed sleeves and the full skirt that are the hallmarks of the civil war era Officer’s uniforms so rarely found in reproductions. (I've got a couple of pictures, but my first try at posting them did not work...I may try again when I have more time.)

I can’t wait to “debut” this Frock at Remembrance Day paired with the new Officer’s Folded Leather Sword Belt I recently received from Nick Duvall. (Another vendor who has been a pleasure to work with and who also delivered a work of art! See my post on the AC forum.)

While yes, I have been trying to single handedly keep the economy afloat, the goal of this post is not to say hey look at what I have, but rather to give praise where I know praise is due. Nick Sekela went out of his way keep me informed as I “coped” with my anticipation, and then delivered a product that exceeded my greatest expectations. In a tough niche market where all too often the grumblers over shadow the praisers, I wanted to spread a healthy dose of praise.

Thanks Nick!
