The Ridley Creek reenactment is up and running for the weekend of September 26-28. At this time, we have commitments from 40 to 50 Confederate reenactors and a Federal field piece. We have enough guys, who can galvanize, for creditable opposing force skirmish scenarios.

The Federals will hold the farm buildings and stone walls. The Confederates will attempt to drive them off. The land is perfect for this scenario.

We could sure use any Federals, who aren't attending another event, or heading to Gettysburg for the weekend. Walk-ons are welcome, as long as they arrive in time for the Saturday morning drill. (We want a safe weekend) There is no registration fee for the event.

The event is shaping up to be a fun living history and skirmish in a beautiful location.

There will be a civilian component at Ridley Creek this year. Olga Leake will be setting up a display, in one of the outbuildings, to show civilian life during the War.

Just a reminder. If you are a Confederate reenactor with a Federal impression, please bring your Yankee kit to the event. (And lots of rounds.)

If any members of the National Regiment would like to attend an event a little closer to home, Ridley Creek State Park is only about twenty miles from Philadelphia. We've got enough Confederates. A few genuine Yankees would be a good thing.

If there is interest, I can be contacted at wrodman1@aol.com

Its about time they're having artillary there. This battle layout sounds like two years ago only it was the opposite. We (the Confederates) had to hold the farm and the Union had to take it from us. Last year wheather by accident or if it was planned we got trapped in the barn where the sheep are. We got surrounded and captured by the Zouves in the end. That was two or three companies of Confederates..it was not good for us.

At this point, we've added a few genuine Federal infantrymen to the participant mix. There will be both medical and civilian displays on site, as well as a Federal artillery piece.

Just a reminder. Walk-ons and day trippers are welcome. We would ask you to arrive NLT 9:00 AM. You must participate in drill to participate in the skirmish. There should be parking available on the lower level parking lot. If this lot fills up, there will be a shuttle from the upper lot.

There is no registration fee for this year's event.

Again, I would ask any Confederates, who can galvanize, to bring their Federal kit to the event.
