Hello,

In the spring my husband and I need to get a wall tent with fly. I'm looking for suggestions of good places to buy from. Good Quality, pre-treated leak proof, good price.

Thanks.
Jenn

I have a panther primitive wall tent for sale, water proofed and flame retardant. As soon as I get it back from Mr. Matt Fox I am willing to sell it, the price is $300.00 including poles, ropes and steaks.

Are those Ribeye or T-bone steaks?
She might need some of those little wooden or metal thingies to hold down the tent ropes, too. :)

I suspect that you can make new poles for less than the shipping costs involved.

its quite expensive shipping 12 foot long poles, it is cheaper and easier just to go to a local hardwear store or the woods behind your house. If yiou would like the poles, I will ship them to you. PM me for my address

None better than Panther, I've been using a Officer model wall tent for over ten years. You have to pay a little extra but worth it in the long run.

Explain-SPF? My tent was pre-shrunk, flame retarded but the SPF isn't something I know. If you could explain I'd appreciate it.

Sun Protection Factor

Now that's not something I've seen noted on canvas tent specifications. And its certainly possible to get sunburned while clinging to the shade of a canvas tent fly all day.

But, to aid in determination, look to the weight of the canvas as a measure of sun protection--the heavier the canvas, the thicker the fabric, the more protection.

Panther Primitives seems to utilize the heaviest canvas available--its one of the reasons their tents are so sturdy. Still, that has its drawbacks, as I've found even a small Panther too heavy for a woman to set up unassisted.

You can also increase your sun protection factor by placing a fly OVER the tent, thus doubling the thickness.

Still, crawling up inside a good honest slat bonnet gives all the sun protection women and children need. The men folks will just have to suffer;)

Not to mention being the proper way to use a fly with a tent.
You're welcome, R.J.
